Position Title: Senior Compensation Analyst
Location: Short Hills, NJ

Position Overview
The Senior Compensation Analyst is primarily responsible for assuring tactical execution of broad based compensation administration within the major areas of job analysis, market pricing, internal focal point processes, and surveys.

Job Analysis:
  • Review job descriptions to assure that job analysis has been completed and documented according to internal standards and are compliant with regulatory environment.
  • Provide FLSA and Officer determination based on exemption testing and job analysis.
  • Assure all jobs have descriptions that are no more than three years old, and keep a catalogue of accurate JDs.
  • Maintain and periodically audit the Job table, assuring that superannuated jobs are inactivated, and that all jobs have accurate classification.
  • Work with HRBPs to assure jobs are correctly reflected in job descriptions
Market Pricing:
  • Determine compensable elements of jobs based on their description.
  • Perform matching against standard survey benchmark jobs.
  • Analyze job pricing based on external and internal equity issues.
  • Adapt market analysis given dynamic needs, i.e., Issues with retention or recruiting key talent.
  • Work with HRBPs and Talent Acquisition Specialists to assure all market pricing is timely.
  • Assure Compensation’s market pricing database is up to date and operational. Perform standard maintenance as required.
Focal Point Processes:
  • Assist in focal point processes, validating data, processes, documentation, and systems.
  • Provide material support to HRBPs and end users for systems issues as necessary.
  • Review data needs for surveys, and provide initial matching and requested data. Submit to survey vendors.
  • Work with survey vendors to scrub data.
  • Assure job matches are identified and input into market pricing database.
Miscellaneous and Sundry:
  • Perform ad hoc analysis of compensation data as required by HRBPs and management.
  • Keep abreast of market changes and patterns, informing management of observed trends.
  • May participate or lead projects as an expert base pay and market pricing compensation representative.
  • Tactical point person for daily issues surrounding systems used for compensation, and for survey companies.

  • BA/BS in Business, HR, Finance, Mathematics or the like
  • Significant work experience can be considered in lieu of degree
  • Minimum four years experience in HR analytical role
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Excel for financial analysis and modeling
  • Excellent organization and administrative skills
  • Significant experience with HRMS platforms
  • Certification in Compensation, Analytics, or HR
  • Ability using and developing MS Access databases
  • Experience using ADP HRMS platform
  • Experience as a Compensation Analyst, HR Analyst, or Payroll Analyst
